Is Alpha is the New Beta?
By John | April 24, 2008
I was looking over some of these new Bungee Labs announcements. They seem like exciting announcements however … Amazon EC2 is in Beta. Bungee Labs is announcing a “Beta” service in Jun 2008 that will run on Amazon’s Beta. All I keep seeing from a lot of these “Cloud” providers are announcements of pre-announcements that in the end are just Beta’s. This is all sounding a little to vaporish to me…
Bungee Grid now running on Amazon EC2 and accessible to Bungee Developers.

John - thanks for your interest in Bungee Connect…I hear you on the Betas thing, but just to be clear: *today* you can run with your Bungee-powered app on top the Bungee Grid on EC2. Any Bungee dev can reqest this and it’ll happen same day. So this wasn’t a pre-announcement - it’s concretely real - it works today (see WideLens.com as an example of a Bungee-powered app that’s running on the Bungee Grid-EC2).

Alex,
Thanks for the correction. I wasn’t sure from the announcement if the EC2 stuff worked today or not.
