Karaoke Apocalypse

By John | March 8, 2008

Yep, I attended Barcamp Austin III, and all I got was this T-Shirt, Oh yea, there was a band called Karaoke Apocalypse. Instead of using CD’s for karaoke, they are a band that gives you a list of songs to pick from and they back you up. The opeinng act was a the SXSW Unicorn, but I have no idea what he sang. Someone got up and sang a Pat Benatar song, and the guy next to me said that was his Psychiatrist (only in Austin). She intro’d with “Your time is up sir.” Vicki (my wife), I want to marry a girl named Pistachio. She sang another Pat Benatar song. Some other girl kissed my ear during an AC/DC song (what’s that all about).

Yeah, there were some Drupula sessions and Semantic web, and three people showed up for my Cloud talk session. Oh yea, a bot demo went nuts and ate a local air conditioning machine (should be on YouTube tomorrow). Lots of free bear. All and all fun was had by all.

See ya next year…
