Another Cloudy Cloud Cloud Cloud
By John | April 28, 2008
Atlanta based Aptana has announced that in a few weeks they will have a new “Cloud” support for their open source Aptana Studio. When they do release Aptana Cloud it will support PHP, MySQL and Apache Web servers. However Ruby and Pyhton will be supported later. In their announcement they claim to compliment Amazon and Google however after reading between the lines they only plan on supporting Joyent, a Solaris based cloud provider, and not the popular Amazon’s EC2.
Aptana Studio has been a popular Web developer tool aimed at developers who use scripting languages. It makes a lot of sense for Aptana to provide a cloud solution in the same model as companies like Heroku, MorphExchange, and EC2onRails.
