Cloud Movements
By John | March 16, 2008
Let’s have a cloud party 2009. Here is a list of my predictions.
- Mosso adds a new service that is 3Tera like and now Rackspace has the holy trinity of hosting providers.
- 3Tera and Rackspace partner.
- Rightscale becomes cloud agnostic by building their own grid framework.
- Rightscale is acquired by a big player (e.g. Sun).
- IBM waits for someone to give Cloud technology a new name so they can announce they will have one in 2010.
- rPath decides that if cohesiveFT can call themselves a cloud then so can they.
- Flexiscale gets a partner in the US and now its a true three horse race for backbone cloud server providers.

ROTFL. John that’s excellent. In all fairness though, are we calling ourselves a cloud? We want to make it easier for people to use clouds and get value from virtualization. Cheers, alexis

I think others might be calling you guys clouds. I figure until the dust settles alls fair. Anyway, you guys are high on my list to talk to about your offering. Literally I just learned about you two week ago. we should talk offline if you are interested in talking.
botchagalupe at gmail.com is my first “firewalled” email account if you will.
Thanks

…and there was me thinking we were going to raise £500m in a funding round with a valuation of £15B to build two datacentres (one on each cost) with their own nuclear power stations
Keep it up John, I wouldn’t be surprised if a number of your ideas are correct.
