Thanks for coming back to my blog.  I had somewhat of my own ESM meltdown on my blog site as you might have noticed.  

Here is my crack at you question...

I think the &quot;Grid&quot; will be considered an evolutionary step toward cloud computing.  I think two primary factors will play a role in cloud comuting success.  

1) Virtualization maturity.  Virtualization and cloud computing are a marrage made in heaven.

2) Web Services maturity.  As applications migrate    to a WEB 2.0 and or SOA they tend to enable themselves to a clustered/virtual environment much better than legacy type applications.</description>
