Roland,

I think "a cloud on the ground level" is probably where the term fog came from. A cleaner definition might be a private vs. a public cloud. It's all a bit cloudy to me???

Do you think "The Fog" is an appropriate allegory? I'm not a big Carpenter fan so I should watch that movie again, to find out where the point is. :-)
Or did you just mean "a cloud on the ground level"?

mentioning that my companies solution runs on the ibm cloud rather than on amazon gives greater comfort and easier sell to our customers management. i.e when asking the network folks to open ports to ibms network (blue cloud) for a site-to-site connection was np. on the otherhand opening ports to ec2 would create a blocker.

it may seem to take longer for the blue cloud to arrive but then again good things do take time. just my 2 cents.

Problem with fog is you can't see what's coming. Typically fog is a hazard you try to avoid.
