I’m a sucker for a good Meme

Kris Buytaert posted a blog article the other day called “Phrase from nearest book meme.” At the time I was in one of the MAN’s cubes and the nearest book, in fact only book, was a phone book. No matter how hard I looked for a way to spin it, “Conway’s Towing” was just not worth the effort. This morning I woke up early and decided to try it from my desk at home. The following is the meme:
* Grab the nearest book.
* Open it to page 56.
* Find the fifth sentence.
* Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
* Don’t dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one: pick the CLOSEST.
