Nagios -> Big Brother ???

hi5 saves time with Hyperic Enterprise | Virtually Speaking | ZDNet.com
Going from Nagios to Big Brother seems like an odd order? I need to dig a little deeper on this Hyperic product as well. Methinks I might try and call these hI5 dudes. You never know sometimes they do reply…

    I believe that you’re reading too much into the order I presented the information in my Blog, John.

    Akash Garg, CTO of hi5, mentioned that both Nagios and Big Brother were tested before the selection of Hyperic Enterprise. He did not fill me in on the test plan, how the products were tested or any of the details of that testing.

    So, I have no idea if these other products were tested in sequence or in parallel by different teams. hi5 appears to be a large enough environment that it was likely that the management tools were tested in tandem.

    Thanks, by the way, for your interest in my Blog! I appreciate your support.

    Thanks for the update. It just looked like an odd order to go from Nagios to BB. However, I do understand your point that most shops have a lot of different ESM tools lying around and migrations don’t always have linear path.

    Thanks again..
    John
