Play Fair or go Home II

By John | March 7, 2008

Yesterday I received this comment to my “Play Fair or go Home” post.

John (and Jack),

I work for CITTIO and want to address your concerns above:

1) CITTIO gives full credit to the open source components we use. They are on our website at:

2) Our website clearly states we use OpenNMS

3) Our contracts make it clear open source code is delivered with our offerings and customers have the right to gain access, copy, modify and redistribute this free software.

4) Our customers have access to the open source code used in our offerings.

Hope this helps. Seems Tarus was just looking for attention and dragged you into this.

Thanks – Brian

Alrighty then Brian. In fairness I will make you this offer. Send me a trail version and contract of your Watchtower software and in complete transparency I will install OpenNMS and Watchtower side by side. I will blog about the expereince with my opinions. I do not have a horse in this race. This site is based on transparency and if you guys were wronged I want to make it right. I like Tarus but it ends there and I will tell the truth about my expereince with both products. If all of what you say is true it will be transparent in my post.
