In short, no, mosso is not a consolidation play. VMWare had the tools we needed when we needed them. And, they have performed well. But, you make the right point. Times are changing. Oracle, Sun, XenSource, Microsoft. VMWare, despite having a big lead, is not going to get a free pass to this market. We will share more over time.

Thank you for the correction and comment. Would you mind expanding on this comment:

"As the use case goes to HA and flexibility vs. server consolidation the merits of VMWare vs the competition change dramatically. For all the utility providers above server consolidation is not the key issue."

Are you saying that VMWare is better for Mosso solution because you are more in the the server consolidation business vs. the utility computing business?

The reason I ask is because I want to follow this space very closing and I think you guys are in a really good position at this point.

John, it is going to be an interesting year or two as this space matures. At Mosso and Rackspace we do use VMWare, but we also use some of our own tools to do some of the things they promise. Furthermore, we are actively using other virtualization tools. As the use case goes to HA and flexibility vs. server consolidation the merits of VMWare vs the competition change dramatically. For all the utility providers above server consolidation is not the key issue.
