These are my links for August 17th from 19:27 to 20:07:
- VMware: The Console: Mobile Phones – The Next Frontier – Virtualized phones: Most everyone who first hears about mobile virtualization scratches their head wondering why you need virtualization on a mobile phone. If I had a dime for every time people asked me for the elevator pitch on this, I definitely wouldn’t need to work for a few years. - Zendesk, the help desk that sits in the cloud, gets another boost | VentureBeat – Zendesk, a maker of customer service software used by companies such as Twitter, MSNBC and IDEO, has raised $6 million in a second round of funding, led by Benchmark Capital.
- Tr.im goes open source, avoids porn-redirection fate | VentureBeat – Nambu, the company behind Tr.im, will relinquish ownership of the domain name, release the source code and open the real-time data it collects publicly, according to the company blog. The company’s founder, Eric Woodward, said he’ll personally cover any shortfall in Tr.im’s expenses while welcoming donations from the public.
