- Virtualization rocks – but who cares beyond consolidation? • The Register – We're running about 15 VMs per server: a mix of Windows and FreeBSD mostly, some high power (e.g. mail), some low power, but there's still plenty of room for more. Virtualization rocks.
- Learn How to Think at Scale | High Scalability – Aaron Kimball of Cloudera gives a wonderful 23 minute presentation titled Cloudera Hadoop Training: Thinking at Scale Cloudera which talks about "common challenges and general best practices for scaling with your data." As a company Cloudera offers "enterprise-level support to users of Apache Hadoop." Part of that offering is a really useful series of tutorial videos on the Hadoop ecosystem.
