- Gartner Predict Rise of ‘Cloud Service Brokerages` – As cloud computing environments become more commonplace and complex, users will have a difficult time integrating the various cloud services and ensuring their integrity, according to Gartner. That will give rise to what Gartner is calling “cloud service brokerages,” who will essentially negotiate the relationship between the end users and providers and make it easier for businesses to manage their cloud services.
- Zoho’s New Plugin Turns Microsoft Access Databases into Web Apps – ReadWriteEnterprise – To everyone wishing they could use their Microsoft Office Access database to build a Web app, your savior has arrived. Zoho has introduced a plugin to migrate Access databases on to their platform. Once migrated, they can be used to build database applications through the Zoho Creator interface.
- IBM’s Data-Crunching Cloud Plan – Forbes.com – For IBM, as for other IT vendors hyping the trend toward "cloud computing," most real-world products have yet to match promises. Even as the company announced a lofty cloud computing road map last month, that plan–to centralize companies' information technology resources in hyper-efficient data centers either on-site or on IBM's premises–has only taken shape in tame Web software offerings and a testing platform for software developers.
