These are my links for June 14th through June 16th:
- The Big Blue Cloud, Getting Ready for the Zettabyte Age | Virtualization Journal – IBM's hodgepodge approach may be indicative of future acquisitions they may need to make to fully realise there cloud ambitions. (IBM Rightscale or IBM SOASTA CloudTest anyone?) Regardless, this latest move firmly places IBM in the center of the hottest land grab in IT.
- thecapacity » Blog Archive » Cloudera’s Hadoop Education – A while back, after Cloudera released their lectures and VMware image for Hadoop, I watched the training sessions and worked through some of the initial exercises.
- IBM Clarifies Its Cloud Approach – Three cloud models offered
IBM is now offering three cloud models for delivering and consuming development and test services:
* IBM Smart Business Test Cloud, a private cloud behind the client's firewall, with hardware, software and services supplied by IBM;
* Smart Business Development & Test, and Smart Business Application Development & Test, which use Rational Software Delivery Services on IBM's existing global cloud system; and
* IBM CloudBurst, a preintegrated set of hardware, storage, virtualization and networking [options], with a built-in service management system.
- TG Daily (c) – IBM puts its business in the Cloud – Big Blue said that it has introduced what it claims are the first set of cloud services and integrated products for enterprise.
- IBM’s Cloud Gains Definition « Data Center Knowledge – What does the “Blue Cloud” look like? There have been times when IBM’s vision for cloud computing seemed diffuse, largely because Big Blue has so many points of entry. IBM sells servers and software, builds data centers, and provides consulting services.
- Hadoop Book – Hadoop: The Definitive Guide is a book about Hadoop by Tom White, published by O'Reilly Media. Although not the final copyedited version, all chapters are now available to read now in the Rough Cuts series.
