BotchagalupeMarks for September 3rd – 14:17

These are my links for September 3rd from 14:17 to 15:41:
- ElasticVapor :: Life in the Cloud: Defining Elastic Computing – Recently there has been a lot of talk about private clouds, public clouds and inter clouds and the problem in attempting to define their key attributes. The problem facing all the various cloud terms is the apparent lack of quantifiable characteristics. In contrast most other areas of technology include standard characteristics such as units of measurement that allows us to define specific quantifiable aspects.
- Bits or pieces?: The cloud computing standards war – Over the last couple of years, I've consistently talked about the necessity for standards in the cloud computing space and the oncoming war that this will create. This was not some insightful prediction but simply the re-application of old lessons learned from the many industries which have undergone a transformation to a service world.
- Infrastructure 2.0 – The intercloud is the most interesting development in cloud computing (and perhaps the data center) since the migration of hypervisors into production environments. It’s a model for driving incredible scale and efficiency from IT systems and hardware, and it can be architected for both public and private clouds.
- vCloud Express: VMware’s Partner-Powered Cloud « Data Center Knowledge – The same question was posed repeatedly at last month’s HostingCon 2009. The cloud is the future. How is your hosting company going to adapt?
