Is Businessweek the New USA Today?

By John | April 24, 2008

Being a person who travels a lot I wind up reading USA Today a lot (Marriott gives free copies). I often find it amazing to see some of their business and technology reports. My favorite one was, they once wrote an article about a guy who figured out how to fix the Year 2K problem. They actually interviewed this idiot who said all we needed to do is add 50 to every number and all the year 2k issues would go away.

Recently some of the Businessweek articals are looking a little “USA Today”ish. Yesterday’s “IBM vs. Tata: Who’s More American?” question is a pretty stupid one.  The answer is:

Neither, it’s a global economy stupid

I guess they have missed this whole “World is Flat” concept. IBM for many years has had employees and offices all around the world. Talk to any IBM’r that lives out side of the USA and they will emphatically that IBM is not an American company. Maybe someone needs to send Mr. Steve Hamm a copy of old “The World is Flat.”
