John (and Jack),

I work for CITTIO and want to address your concerns above:

1) CITTIO gives full credit to the open source components we use. They are on our website at: http://www.cittio.com/technology/open-source.html

2) Our website clearly states we use OpenNMS

3) Our contracts make it clear open source code is delivered with our offerings and customers have the right to gain access, copy, modify and redistribute this free software.

4) Our customers have access to the open source code used in our offerings.

Hope this helps. Seems Tarus was just looking for attention and dragged you into this.

Thanks - Brian

Jack,

Great Point. I knew I was forgetting something. Yes that is a really big point CITTO needs to play by all the rules.

Thanks

Groundwork also has a download with the source code to their offering freely available too. I personally don't think the issue is credit though that would be nice, the real issue is access to source code by the respective customers. That's the main deal, the customers should then be in a position to do what they will with the code including giving it to Tarus for incorporation into OpenNMS.

BTW: added you to my blogroll the other day. Enjoy the links :) (& traffic hopefully)
