Where did we go wrong?
By John | September 18, 2008
This morning I noticed that the Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg, is listed #321 on Forbes 400 Richest Americans list. God bless him; however, in light of our recent financial crisis in the United States, I wondered if there was any correlation. I mean, this boy is in his early twenties and he basically went from zero to a billion in less than two years. So I decided to load the Forbes 400 Richest Americans list into IBM’s ManyEyes and play a little. In the end I found that the data had little to do with WEB 2.0 rocks stars. I created a tag cloud based on the count of individual income sources. You can also change the cloud to group by net worth or by location. I would be interested to know if this data stands out to you like it did to me.

So some guys in new New York made a bunch of money from real estate… What are you trying to say?
Socialized medicine is evil, but socialized capitalism is going to help everyone, just wait and see.

I just thought it was interesting that Hedge Funds, Leveraged Buyouts, and Investments accounted for almost 20% of the individuals on the list.
