MD5 Das Broke – They Said it Would Take Light Years

And they wrong on two accounts.  First off, light years is a unit of length not time and  it only took 16 hours.  Yesterday some bright boys over in Berlin proved them all wrong with 200 PS3′s.  What are the chances?  Actually it’s 340,282,366,920,938,463,463,374,607,431,768,211,456 to 1 to break 128-bit hash scheme (a.k.a.  “MD5″).  Here are some of the best links I have found…
