All my friends are gonna be strangers

By John | August 15, 2007

At the opening bell this morning VMW opened at a mere 52 dollars per share price with shares soaring 75.9% in their stock market debut. This based off of their initial price of $29 per share gives them a market cap of over 20 billion. Not bad considering EMC paid 541 million for VMware only three years ago.

Now if any of this sound like I know what I am talking about, financially speaking, I can assure you I don’t.  Ever since I started talking about VMware’s IPO on my blog I have been getting all these responses and links from investors assuring me that VMware is not the next Google.  In a Merle Haggard sort of way I guess I have to say “all my friends are gonna be strangers”
